As a response to the May 9th ClimateXchange introductory event, people requested information about practical changes - we've initiated two web pages in the ‘toolkit' part of the site, focused on transport and food. Where can you buy low energy lightbulbs near you? We've like to have a list to complement our light bulb library - so if you know of shops locally that stock them, tell us so that we can tell Oxfordshire.

Calling keen gardeners / allotment holders? Fancy hosting a Climate Change Gardeners Question time event? We've got speakers on garden impacts itching to talk  - contact us to organise an event.   More Inconvenient Truths

The film was shown in North Leigh Community Hall on 13th June to 40 people as part of the North Leigh Energy Efficiency Project, Wolvercote Village Hall on 15th June to 70 people, and will be shown tonight in Merton, as part of the Merton Climate Forum. Live Earth    

Coming to a screen and Wembley Stadium near you. Would you like to host a Local Live Earth party? You could focus on your community, interview people, make a video, or get people talking about what they could do locally. We've got materials, and some funding to help you generate the local live Earth Buzz... let the ideas roll.

  Alive Earth

... an alternative concert is already underway, which welcomes all visitors and performers. The online concert is the brainwave of COIN, one of our partner organisations,  to support a wider range of voices on climate change. Visit http://www.aliveearth.org/  and add your own performances!

Mon 25th June - Screening of ‘The Power of Community' (53 min) Oxford University Centre for the Environment (OUCE , South Parks Road, Oxford, Ox1 3QY)

When Cuba lost access to Soviet oil in the early 1990s, the country faced an immediate crisis - feeding the population - and an ongoing challenge: how to create a new low-energy society. The film tells the story of the Cuban people's hardship, ingenuity and triumph over sudden adversity, and provides a valuable example of how to successfully address the challenge of reducing our energy use. Catch up, tell us what you've been up to and find out what everyone else has been doing!

Light refreshments provided from 6.30pm, film starts at 7pm, and networking from 8 - 8.30pm.Please let me know in advance if you'd like to come.

Tues June 26th, 6.30 - 9 pm, in Oxford Town Hall  COIN Climate Action Group Introductory event

Do you want to join together with like-minded people, expand your knowledge of climate change, explore your mutual interests and take constructive action to deal with the problem?

If so - then you should come along to COIN's Action Group "matchmaking meeting". Facilitated by COIN (Climate Outreach and Information Network), this meeting will enable you to find people with similar interests to you - and help you form into groups to take positive action. Action Group participants are expected to commit
to regular monthly meetings - and we will meet back together again at the end of the year to collate our experiences and discuss what we have learnt.

Calling artists, musicians, performers! Climate Creatives Thurs July 5th   6.30pm, OUCE

Are you an artist, musician or performer? Would you like see your climate visions created in art, sculpture, music? Come along to the Climate Creatives event - meet the ClimateX team, develop your ideas, and meet possible collaborators. We've got some seed funding to take your ideas further. Please let me know in advance if you'd like to come - and please do forward to creative people you know.

Sat 7th July Siobhan Davies at Oxford Playhouse

Siobhan's work Endangered Species which she created for Cape Farewell's Art of Climate Change exhibition is currently installed at the Oxford Playhouse foyer and can be seen there until Saturday 7th July. On Saturday 7th July there will also be a pre-performance talk at the Oxford Playhouse with Siobhan, who will be talking about her work with Cape Farewell, and Dr Chris West, Director of UK Climate Impacts Programme.
